Aseptika wins big at West Midlands healthcare innovation awards

Local Cambridgeshire healthcare company, Aseptika Ltd (Activ8rlives) has been awarded the Digital or Artificial Intelligence healthcare innovation awards at the Meridian Awards – A Celebration of Innovation, for its ground-breaking Active+me patient activation programme.

The Active+me programme combines group exercise classes, health coaching, peer support, PAM (Patient Activation Measure) monitoring, with Aseptika – Activ8rlives self-care monitoring technology. This allows health and care professionals remote access to patient health and wellbeing data helping to identify deterioration in conditions more quickly than traditional methods of support.

“The feasibility study in Cambridgeshire was support by Eastern Academic Health Science Network (EAHSN) in 2017/8. We have been working closely with West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN), University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire to transfer and extend the Active+me protocol to Coventry, to help meet the challenges defined in the NHS Long-Term plan.”

The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network celebrated the best of innovation in healthcare around the region by presenting its fourth annual awards at the Park Regis in Birmingham.

The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network transforms lives through innovation and is working hard to make the West Midlands the first digitally-enabled health economy in England.
